Aloha!

In July, Robert and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary in Hawaii! It was SO BEAUTIFUL! Everyone told us how nice it was but I really think it is one of those places you have to see to believe! Once i figure out how to post my Flickr account to my page, you will be able to view pictures. We went to Ohau and The Big Island. We took a hleicopter ride over flowing lava, toured a Kona coffee plantation , and went snorkeling.

Sorry again for the lack of posting. Everytime I think about updating, I am at work. I will post pictures of some of the below topics when I am on the other computer.

Cakes, Cakes, and more Cakes!!!

Things have been good around the Sterner house. I have been taking the Wilton Cake classes at Michaels and really enjoying myself. I start Course 3 on Wednesday. So far I have made several cakes and about 6 dozen Elmo cupcakes. They all turned out well. Some were easier than others. This last week we did the basketweave with Royal Icing flowers. The flowers I did at class tunred out good but the ones I tried at home didn’t work. I am not sure if my icing was bad or what. I have volunteered to make a birthday cake for my manager at work later this month. I am pretty nervous about it because there is a local bakery that does pretty cakes and I don’t want to be compared to it. We will see how it turns out.

Robert is doing well also. He is enjoying not being in class. We just had a new addition to our family as well! Robert finally got his HDTV! I have to admit that it has been nice to have around. Movies are especially fun to watch!

October is a busy month! We are going camping in Huntsville, a football game in Austin, and a friends wedding. In November we are going to Marshall for my 5 year reunion. I CAN’T WAIT to see friends from school. Recently I have really been missing them. Luckily I got to talk to 2 of them this last week.

I should wrap up now. I am going to attempt to link my Flickr account on my blog… Good night!

Ok, so I need to update more often….

I found out this weekend that people do actually read my blog. Once again, I will try to update on a more regular basis. I guess the picture of Robert also describes how I have been with updating.

Robert graduated on the 9th!!!! I have pictures but they are at home on the computer. I will try to post them tonight. I do have one with me. Robert was wanting to wear this shirt really bad. He was able to pull it off afterall and still look great with his gown on.

This last weekend we took our bikes out and went Geocaching. We had 25 finds!! That is a record high for us. We went to the Baytown Nature Center and Frankie Randolph Park. The BNC is an old neighborhood that kept being flooded during hurricanes. FEMA bought them out and leveled the houses. Nature has since taken over and the old roads are trails. There is a butterfly garden and the place seems to be popular for fishing. You can look across the Bay and see the San Jacinto Monument.

We also met up with Stephen this last weekend at Starbucks. It sure was good to catch up with him. It was neat to talk about all that God has in store for us and the various seasons of life we all go through.

Oh yeah! I won money at church!!! I went through a 13 week finance class called Financial Peace University and if you attended all sessions you got entered into a drawing. My name was picked and I won 500.00!!! I was shocked to say the least. I probably looked like a crazy person but oh well. Robert and I went to the Finger’s Furniture Bargain Basement and found a new kitchen table. It was a great deal and I still have money left over. It is pine with 4 chairs.

This coming weekend I get to go to a Scrapbook Beach Retreat! A friend of mine has a beach house on Bolivar and she has a ladies weekend every May. I am going on Friday and coming back Saturday evening. It is going to be so much fun to be able to work on my albums the whole time! I might go to the beach a bit but not planning on it right now.

I think that is it for now. Like I said, I will try to update more often.

Edit to add: I am still trying to figure out how to post pictures. You get the idea for now.

More updates…

These last couple of months have been pretty busy. We had a cookout at church a couple of weeks agao and that was a ton of fun. Here is a picture of our small group at the cookout.

We went camping at Brazos Bend State park at the end of Feb. It of course rained and was cold but it was still a lot of fun.

Robert has also done several bike rides. The Space Race is this coming weekend and the MS 150 is the 22nd and 23rd. The weather has been wonderful for the rides so far. Pray it continues.

As far as Geocaching goes, the last couple of months has been kind of low due to things needing to be done around the house but we did get to do a 10 mile hike. It is called 4 cache loop and is in the Sam Houston National Forest in the Huntsville area. You start out hiking towards the 1st set of cooridinates and you get the 2nd set there and so on. There are 4 stages and at the end you get a patch that says, I Conquered 4 cache loop. It was so much fun. We had a group of 14 doing the trail.

Robert graduates on May 9th at 7:00 at Reliant Center. I will post pictures after the BIG event. We are all so excited for him.

Have a great day!

Jan.-Feb. News

Bike ride season has started back up. Robert is once again training for the MS150. The ride takes place on April 22-23. We are staying at Misty and Erics again the night before. It makes things so much easier to not have to get up at the crack of dawn and drive an hour to the ride. If anyone wants to donate to Robert here is his online donation link: http://ms150.org/edon.cfm?id=179783

Things are busy around the house, I am taking a Finance class at church and Robert is finishing up school. He found out that he is for sure graduating on May 9! Yipee!!! The ceremony is on a Tuesday for some odd reason. We think UHCL might have either waited too long to reserve a spot or it was cheaper to do it during the week.

We are going camping with our group this weekend. We are planning to head out early on Friday to head down to Brazos Bend State Park. It is less than an hour away but we want to go do some geocaching on the way down. Hopefully the weather will dry up and warm up a bit. I am all for camping while it is cold but not wet as well. We set up our new tent in the loving room yesterday. It is very nice. Lily wasn’t so sure about it and of course Bailey wasn’t scared once he sniffed it. We are going to decide as a group by Wednesday if we are going to try to go still. It depends on the weather.

Things have been coming together around the house. We have been geocaching a lot so things kind of got out of hand with housework. Luckily the weather was nasty this weekend and we (or at least I )weren’t quite as tempted to go out. We need to get in the habit of doing things during the week so we don’t have to worry about it on the weekends.

Robert and I are in the process of planning a trip to Hawaii in July-August. Right now we are thinking of going to Oahu and the Big Island. I have a ton of books that I am reading to try to get an idea as to what we can do. We are planning to go for 8-10 days at this point. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

We have also recently found out that 2 of our friends who are pregnant and due this summer are having girls. We are so excited for them!

That is it for now. As always, I will try to update more often.
