High Chairs and Hats

Levi has had a high chair since before he was born. However, he didn’t have the neck strength to stay up in it until recently. This week I decided to put it together and see how it worked. He wasn’t so sure about the whole concept, but he seemed to fit in it fine. Previously when we ate he would sit in his rocker and we’d rock him. The problem with this, at least from his point of view is he is far away from us. Not to mention the frequency with which dog snouts appear in his view. Now he will be at our level and I think he’ll enjoy that a lot more.

Bailey thinks this is a great thing. Once Levi starts eating more solids I’m sure the dogs will be circling like sharks at every meal. Here is Bailey taking a look at his new food delivery system. I have a feeling the dogs may be put up a lot during dinner in the future.
A few years ago I met someone at a work training program that was a knitter. Little did I know I was getting in with a bad crowd. Apparently there is a group of outlaw knitters. The Clear Lake Outlaw Knitters (CLOK). Some time back, at about 2 am our doorbell rang. We went to the door, having woken up but saw no one out there. Living near Houston we decided it wasn’t worth it to open the door and end up home invaded or something. The next morning we found we had been CLOK’d. This little orange cap was on one of our yard lights. Its been in our room since, but Levi just had some outfits that looked good with it, so here’s a shot of it.

I can’t find a link to it, but apparently these crazy outlaw knitters recently hit an art museum nearby and tagged it with some scarves. The art museum people, being arsty people, liked it, and I think it even ended up in a local paper. Pretty cool, even if they are a bad crowd.

Memorial Day Baby

Friday we went out to eat at Maggiano’s near the Galleria in Houston. When we were done I realized we were about 3 miles away from the two House of Pies. I suggested a visit and off we went. Here’s the great logo they have up on the wall.
And here is the awesome pie. It was totally delicious.
For quite a while a group of our friends had Taco Wednesdays. Every Wednesday we’d get together for tacos together at the Pierro’s house. As everyone got more busy and some of us had kids it ended up moving to Sunday. We ended up keeping the name since we had a mailing list with the name. Some times we don’t have Tacos though. This leads to the confusion we had this week. We had barbecue for Taco Wednesday on Sunday at John and Kristen’s house. Anyways, we were supposed to be swimming, but Levi ended up making us late. Regardless it was sunny and he had to wear his shades.
Here’s Levi hanging out with me watching TV and surfing. We were watching Texas destroy Kansas State in the Big 12 baseball champ

Then Levi got sleepy and ended up making us missing out on swimming. Oh well, better a rested baby than not. And here’s Kristen hanging out with Levi Sunday out on the patio.

And then on Memorial Day itself Levi wore his patriotic outfit. Here he is with a big grin before he headed over to Granny’s house so Mommy and Daddy could go see Indiana Jones.

East Texas Wedding

We went to East Texas this weekend for Kendra’s brother Matt’s wedding. We stayed in Tyler and the wedding was near Palestine. Here’s a shot of Levi and I hanging out in the hotel lobby breakfast area. He’s wearing his skater pajamas, they look like he’s wearing a shirt and a thermals.

Here’s my mom and stepdad with Levi at the rehearsal dinner. We ate at Carino’s. It was really good food and a good time. Levi did a great job considering it was late.

Levi is such a partier. Here he is with an extra pair of pants on his head getting ready for the wedding.

Here’s Levi and I at the wedding. We wore matching orange outfits. Apparently the bride, a braggie, didn’t appreciate our color choice. Oh well.We liked this wedding topper. A little different than the normal one.

And here’s a random shot of Tyler helping out with thank you notes for Levi’s stuff. We are working on thank you notes for all the showers, but it would have been a lot easier if we had finished before he came. Levi keeps us busy.

Mother’s Day craft and Matt’s Wedding

Make sure you visit Robert’s Blog for more pictures. I have a lot on mine but there are even more good ones.

Below are 2 pictures of the flower pot Levi made for me at day care. The little bugs are his finger prints!

My little brother Matt got married this weekend. He and Jennifer had a wonderful outdoor wedding. It was perfect and tons of fun. Levi did great and sure is a party animal!

Here is Matt getting the groomsman gifts ready and helping with the rehearsal dinner decorations.

These decorations turned out really nice. We took wine bottles ( that Matt and Jennifer graciously emptied) and tied a bow around the neck and put Tyler roses in. We also set some on mirror squares with votive candles. They were very affordable to make.
My Maw-Maw got to meet Levi for the 1st time this weekend.

Smiling boy out geocaching at UT Tyler where Robert went to school.

One of my best friends Melissa came down to visit us and meet Levi.
Here I am with Levi after the rehearsal dinner at Carinos.
Our family at dinner.
Maw-Maw and Grandaddy (My grandparents) at dinner.
Our family at the reception. Levi sure loves the music and dancing! He did great staying up WAY past his bedtime.

Oops forgot to turn this one… Grandma and Grandpa Walker at the reception.

Maw-Maw and Aunt Danette at the reception.

Our cousin Francis was able to come down for the wedding from Seattle. It was a quick trip but so nice to be able to see him. It sure has been a long time!Congrats to the Bride and Groom! We love you all lots!! (If I get a better picture of them, I’ll post it)

That’s all for now. We had a great time!
