More feeding and medicine

We’ve still been working on getting Levi to eat cereal. Today we decided to add a little baby food applesauce to it. We hoped this would help lessen the weird smell and taste of the rice cereal. Here he is looking at me like I’m crazy. “Wait, you want to do that again? Didn’t I tell you no yesterday?”
“Hey, cut it out!”
Here he is after spitting some of it out.
Every time the spoon gets close to its mouth he shuts it or sticks his tongue out.
But in the end he ate a lot of it. There was easily four times this much food at the start, so he did a good job. At one point we gave him just straight applesauce to see how he did. He seemed to like it but he made quite a funny face with it. I think he found it a bit tart compared to mommy’s milk.
After a while he was getting a bit ticked off.
And fussy.
Then he just got angry.

Later, while we were eating he leaned to the side and got quiet. Then he gripped the high chair. Then his face got red… Then I got to change a diaper. Thanks kid.

Levi has been sick this last week and a half. He has been doing breathing treatments since last Thursday. He starts out liking them and playing with the mask. Later he gets a little agitated and starts fussing, but he’s been a trouper. On his follow up visit he had an ear infection, so now he’s taking antibiotics. Poor little dude.

Crazy stuff

Before I left Phoenix I got another email from Levi. He sent a crazy surprised face. There was another shot I saw when I got home that was a great smile, but it was blurry.
Levi does all sorts of crazy acrobatics. Babies are so very flexible. Here he is doing the splits while eating.
And here, another big milestone. His first time eating cereal. He wasn’t so sure about it. In fact he thought we were crazy. Why stop eating bottles and hanging out with Mom if you don’t have to.
Here it is running down his face. He’s not so sure about this.
Grabbing the spoon before it can get there.

We’ll try again tomorrow. He didn’t end up eating much this time, but he’s got to get used to it. I’m sure Kendra will be posting some pictures about it as well.

Missing the little guy

This week I’m in Phoenix, AZ on a business trip. This has me missing my little boy a lot. I thought I’d post a shot I took of him the week before that is great. Here he is after his bath.

He really likes baths and sometimes even gets upset when they end. Here he is chewing on his towel to console himself.
When I got into Phoenix I went to South Mountain to hike around some. Here’s a view of the town from one of the peaks.
And here’s the other side on another peak. I got to see someone paragliding from the peak.
Here’s a shot Levi emailed me of himself this week. That smile is my background on the laptop I’m using for work this week. I think he had help with the email by the way.

A friend of ours, Jodi got some bad news about their baby in progress, so please keep her in your prayers. Levi is also home sick with Kendra so they need some extra prayers too. I’m of course stuck here until Friday night, so I can’t help.

Please Pray

Please keep my friend Jodi and her family in your prayers. She is 18 weeks pregnant and just found out that their little girl has some complications. Prayer is an amazing thing so keep them coming!

Also, Levi went to the doctor today and he has bronchiolitis. He has to do breathing treatments 3 times a day. I will be staying home with him tomorrow and he has to go for a follow up appointment on Tuesday. Keep him and me in your prayers too. Of course Robert is out of town till tomorrow night.
