The Deal

So as I’ve said before, Levi is eating solids now. However, he doesn’t always do a great job of it. He makes a lot of noise and grumbles at me. After spending 30 minutes trying to feed him several times in a row with no success we came to a deal. Levi and I agreed I wouldn’t try to feed him anymore until Kendra could get him to do it. She has had better luck. As part of the solution we went to oatmeal cereal, which he seems to like more. We also gave him some peaches. He’d already had applesauce, so this was his second fruit. Here’s video below of him giving it a shot. A little way into the video you can hear me talking about the deal.

He ate all of the food we had for him today so I may be feeding him again soon.

Tropical Storm Edouard visited us today, getting us out of work. As I say in the video it was a total wuss. We got a total of 1.5 inches of rain in our gauge. That’s pretty lame to me. On the plus side I got to work a half day yesterday and got today off, so I’m cool with that.

Levi and I got to do some hanging out and he did some tummy time with me. As I blogged about on Father’s Day he can roll over. Of course at home he hadn’t done it since then. We tried and tried to get him to, but he wouldn’t. Kendra was talking to the ladies at our daycare, telling them how he hadn’t done it again for us and they said he does it there all the time. Well, since his secret was out he decided to roll over for us several times today. He even rolled over from his back to his tummy, which we hadn’t ever seen or heard about him doing.

We had dinner with my mom and George and got to enjoy a nice relaxed day. All in all it was a nice day off.

More feeding video
Here is more video of Levi eating. Rice cereal wasn’t cutting it for him so we tried oatmeal. So far so good. We also introduced peaches today. He seemed to really like them. Robert and I sound funny on the video but hey, you do what you have to to get him to eat.

Levi also experienced his first tropical storm today. Eduardo popped up really fast late Sunday and made landfall today. JSC closed at Noon yesterday so everyone could go home to make plans so it was great to have Robert off today. The storm only ended up giving us 1.5 inches of much needed rain and some cooler temperatures. We got lucky for sure! I was able to sleep in so that has helped me feel a lot better. I think by this weekend I should be back to feeling fine.

Lots going on!

Levi has had a very busy last 2 weeks! As you can see below, we started introducing solids to him. There have been more hard times than not. We are adding fruit in now and will try oatmeal to see if he likes it better. If anyone has tips, let us know.
Levi is also still on breathing treatments. We went back to the doctor on Tuesday and she said we can go to 2 times a day and then less as he improves. While at the dr. we discovered he had his first ear infection. Hopefully we can kick all of this soon and have him feeling better. Luckily he takes his treatments pretty well. As you can see below, he gets pretty relaxed. His last day of antibiotics for his ear is tomorrow! We don’t have to go back to the dr. till his 6 month check up on the 14th.

Here is Levi hanging out on his playmat with his friend Mortimer the Moose.
Great PawPaw Jancha came to visit while Robert was out of town. It was great to show him our house and visit with him and Alice for a short time.
This is a random shot I took one morning. He is such a happy baby!
Here is a video to enjoy. This was one of the more successful times.

I am also starting another round of antibiotics today. I think I have strep throat and the dr. phoned me in some medicine. It stinks to have Levi not feeling well and me not feeling well also. Luckily we have Robert to take care of us!

Dr. Horrible

Okay, so I know I’m a big nerd and I like stuff like Star Wars and comics. Maybe that isn’t the case for everyone who reads the blog. But if it is there are two really funny things you should check out. One is Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog. Its a 45 minute movie put together by Joss Whedon, the guy who did Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Serenity and many other things.

The other is the guild. If you’re a gamer, especially an online one this will be funny to you. Even if you’re not its still funny.

Nerdy? Maybe, but darn funny too.
