Cats, naps and big red balls

Most cats are afraid of vacuums. The sound terrifies them. Same for dogs. Well, in our house we have a special cat. She’s deaf, so vacuuming doesn’t bother her. She actually likes the brushes rotating on her fur. Here she is getting a good vacuuming. I can do in five minutes what would take me 30 with a brush. Of course she practically fills up a bag with all that fur.

One night Levi was feeling pretty tired. He hadn’t napped well that day, and ended up falling asleep on Kendra. After a while she needed to eat dinner. I had eaten earlier so we transferred him over to me. Of course we forgot to get a picture of him on here, but here’s a shot of him hanging out on my as I eat ice cream.

Here we are resting together. This used to happen all the time, him curled up on his belly on us, but as he’s gotten older it has happened less. I’ve put a few pictures below of him curled up for a nap on a human bed.

I had to get a shot of him decked out in a nice cute UT outfit. He has another one that is even better, but I haven’t gotten a good shot of him in it yet.
A while back we got some bouncie balls for someone, but ended up not getting them to them, so we have them at home. Levi has some friends that are older, so one of them will probably get one and he’ll keep the other. I wanted to see how he’d react to one, so here he is. He seemed confused about it and unsure what to do. The end result was it rolling away from him.

Levi went for his 6 month checkup today and he is 16 pounds 8 ounces. His weight gain is slowing as he grows older and taller. He is only about 25th percentile for weight, but has moved up to 50th for height and head. We figure he’s eating good and is healthy, so he’s doing just fine. He got all of his shots except one they were out of too. I’m not home with him, but Kendra is, so she’ll have to post an update on how that went later. He wasn’t too happen when he got them though. Luckily he was sleeping so he kind of drifted off. If Kendra got lucky he stayed asleep and will feel better when he wakes up.

Kids in comics

Its very obvious on some comics that they definitely have kids. The first comic definitely is familiar. The second is just funny.

Just hanging out, meeting the dogs and swimming

Levi was playing on the floor one day and decided that his moose would make a great pillow. It was quite funny.

Levi has really started watching the animals recently. Here he is petting Lily for the first time. He loves the dogs and they like him right now too. Especially when they sneak a lick on a foot.

Bailey had to be restrained while Levi pet him.
Granny and Grandpa came over on Tuesday the 5th when we were off due to tropical storm Eduard. They brought over a couple of books for Levi to enjoy.
Levi used to lay like this on Robert a lot when he was smaller. This night he totally passed out on me and then I had to pass him off to go eat. Robert got to snuggle a very sleepy baby for about an hour. Snuggly babies are the best!
Levi has been napping like this a lot recently. It is so cute.

We got him a new pool float to use. He really likes it and we like it since it has a nice cover on it. He is still a bit small so we have to put some dish towels under him to lift him up a bit.
Here is another swimming video. Levi really likes it. He was kicking his feet and moving himself around the pool this time.

Overall we are doing well. Levi goes for his 6 month check up and shots on Thursday. Eating solids is going a lot better. We found that he like oatmeal and so far he has had applesauce, peaches, carrots, and bananas.

Well off to get Levi ready for bed. Goodnight!

Jumping to sleep on Sunday

On Sundays we go to a church in a high school. Our church has two campuses and the new one is in Clear Springs High School. We serve in the Pee Wees area, which is the children before Kindergarten. Pee Wees happens to meet in a hall. The only downside of us serving is Levi ends up staying for two services, one were we go to the service and one where we help in Pee Wees. this means he gets to nap there. At least he naps when all the people serving aren’t playing with him. He’s pretty popular.

Here he is hanging out in a jumper. He was tired and ended up going to sleep in it almost immediately. Funny enough this was his first time in a jumper, so you would think he’d be having fun. Instead he passed out.

Every once and a while he’d start to wake up and jump. After a few bounces he’d basically rock himself back to sleep. He he is startling himself before falling back to sleep.

Its all very cute. We’re going to have to get them to put him in a swing more though. He doesn’t get his nap because they’re all playing with him. This results in a very grumpy Levi in the afternoon.
