I started a post with pictures on Saturday night and haven’t gotten any more time to put words with the pictures. I can email this in so at least it is somewhat of an update.

We have been pretty busy recently. Last weekend we went and attempted to take Pumpkin Patch pictures. When I post the pictures, you will see why I say attempt. Right as we put Levi down, he started crying. Not just fussing but actual tears. He was ok when we would carry him but then start back up if we put him back down. We m might go this weekend and try again. My only guess is that he was tired. He hadn’t napped very well that morning.

Sunday night we found out that the AC blower in our house had stopped working. The repair people came out yesterday and said it is a blown circuit board. Most likely due to a roof leak. They are coming today to repair it. Luckily it can go as storm damage and be covered by insurance. Also a blessing is that it has been great weather here. If it were much warmer, we would be staying at family houses.

Levi is moving around a lot more recently. He isn’t quite crawling yet but he gets on his belly and wiggles back and forth and pushes with his hands and feet across the floor to get places. We are going to have to tape down some speaker wires and relocate the laptop.

Overall things are going really well. We are so blessed to have a house to worry about the AC going out and a fence to repair! I have to always remind myself to look for the positive in life and enjoy it. This is a hard, hard thing for me to do. I have a bad habit of comparing my house to that of my friends. I go home and look at all that needs to be done and go crazy. There have been times where Robert has told me that I can only do 1 more thing and then I have to sit down and relax.

Here are a few things I am thankful for recently:

Free coffee when stopping on a rainy day to get gas
Beautiful weather
A baby that is incredibly happy majority of the time
A loving husband who makes me slow down and relax at the end of the day
Wonderful parents who help out whenever we ask

Pumpkins and Ducks

Levi hates pumpkin patches apparently. That or he was just really sleepy. He cried most of the time we were there. If we set him down he was not happy at all as you can see in the picture. If we picked him up he would do okay.
Sitting down with him didn’t work either. Here he is explaining the problem to us.
Here we are picking out a pumpkin. He’s not doing too bad here because I’m holding him and we’re not sitting.
Here’s Levi playing with his group of ducks. The yellow one is Angry Duck, due to its eyebrows. The green one is Hulk Duck, cause its green. Also in the picture are Police Duck, being chewed on, Pirate Duck floating off screen and Tigger at the top. Now that he’s in the full tub instead of in a little tub he can have the whole group. He’s always had Angry Duck with him. Angry Duck has overseen every bath Levi has had.
Another shot of the group. Notice Levi’s modesty wash cloth. Can’t post naughty pictures online. We’ll save those for blackmail with girlfriends later.

Levi Says, “Go Texas!”

Kendra’s company has always done a good job having events for their employees. They’re horrible at setting down good fair rules for any games played at the events, but that’s another matter. This year they had their picnic on site at JSC and had Red River BBQ for lunch. It was awesome food and we had a lot of fun. Here’s Levi and I in one of the bouncers after all the bigger kids were done. He loves to bounce and I can see a big future for him bouncing like a mad man in these.

Levi is a big UT fan, here he is sporting the whole outfit, complete with shoes. His main interest in shoes when they are put on him is chewing on them. When you try to put shoes on him he curls his toes, making it harder to get them on him. This of course has the side
Levi has seen a number of football games in his life. Heck, he watched the Pro Bowl with us in the Hospital the day after he was born. He still hadn’t been to a game yet. This week our high school, Clear Creek, was playing the one we now live in the district of, Dickinson. One of our friends also works at Dickinson, so we decided to go to the game. He had a lot of fun at it, enjoying all the people watching, noise and lights.
However, by the end of the first half he was getting tired, so you can see he has a pacifier in and a blank stare on his face in this group self portrait. Dickinson won the game by the way, not that we were disappointed. Creek was pretty lame when we were there.

Levi loves to go outside. He loves the breeze and all the new things to look at. One day when I got home from work I saw him hanging out with Kendra on the front lawn. He was really enjoying himself with a big grin. Here we are smiling at each other and enjoying the beautiful weather.
As we’ve said before, Levi is a big fan of standing up. He still can’t sit up on his own, but he is convinced that he should stand all the time. He also likes to stick his tongue out. A lot of times he is feeling his teeth. The other new development is Levi’s awesome new toy. He has always liked to bounce when people hold him. He’s also love the jumpers at church. Kendra ended up getting one used for an awesome price from someone, so now Levi has his own. Its a ton of fun to watch him in it. He will bounce forever. Several times he’s been near exhaustion, but he just won’t let himself stop. At church when he was younger he would bounce in them until he fell asleep from exhaustion.
I’m sure Kendra will post more pictures soon. She has several others of her family hanging out with Levi, so I leave those to her. She also takes some good ones on Tuesdays and Thursdays when they are hanging out at home.

LOTS to catch up on!!

This is going to be a really long post. Make sure to check Robert’s blog as well. There are some different pictures on his blog.

Levi loves to play in the tub. This was just one of the few cute pictures I took. Have to edit one of them before I post it online though. 🙂
After bath each night we have playtime and a book. He has a basket of toys that he picks from and enjoys chewing the basket as well.
Levi is now in the Infant III class at school. Here are his first teachers. Mrs. Gemma and Mrs. Klarita. They are SUPER teachers and we miss them lots. They did great with dealing with crazy new moms like myself. Luckily we still see them at school.
On September 4th Levi sat in a public highchair for the first time. He liked it a lot and it made it a lot easier to feed him and keep things clean.
We went to Cheddars to celebrate Grandaddy’s birthday with Aunt Mac, Aunt Danette, Ashley and Christa. We had a great time.Later that weekend we met Uncle Matt and Aunt Jennifer at Carinos in Pearland to celebrate Grandaddy’s birthday with them. Levi loves him Aunt and Uncle. You can see how fascinated he is with Aunt Jennifer’s red curly hair.
This is his first attempt at eating fruit puffs. Let’s just say that we need to keep practicing those fine motor skills.
Thursday September 11 we got to experience our first hurricane evacuation! Ike decided to pay the gulf coast a visit. We left that morning around 10:30 to head to Austin to stay with Great Paw-Paw Jancha. We got to his house around 5 which isn’t that much longer than it would normally take considering the traffic and stops to feed/change Levi. This evacuation went a lot better than Rita. Below are some pictures of the car/pets all loaded up. Everyone did so well during the trip. The cats were in the laundry room/bathroom combo and I heard minimal hissing and the dogs did great in their kennels and being supervised in the back yard. Here is a picture of Levi and Great Paw-Paw in the backyard. They had a lot of fun together.
Levi has been standing really well (with help of course). No crawling quite yet but I don’t think it will be much longer.
He didn’t nap too well when we were out of town since his schedule was so thrown off. He took several naps on us. I’ll never turn down some baby snuggling.
Of course when we go to Austin we have to stop by the co-op. They have a large Bevo behind it and we took advantage of the photo op. We got Levi a stuffed Longhorn named Cooper and a little Tiger friend that we named Ike. He is his buddy and Robert has more about him on his blog.
On September 12 we went to San Marcos to see my friend Jocelyn from college. She has a 10 month old named Josiah. It was neat to see them play. Josiah was napping when we first got there and when he got up, Levi started talking to him. I think it overwhelmed him because he started crying. We thought it was so funny. Levi is quite social and loud. They had a good time playing and Robert and I enjoyed a nice meal after her husband Ken got home from work. It was SO nice to see a friend from college.

This picture is funny because Levi is trying to eat Jocelyn’s shirt and Josiah is distracted by the trees above him.
Here is a better one.
Levi was happy to have his swing back. He and Ike enjoy napping in it.
I think that’s it for now. We came home on Tuesday the 16th to a house with power. Robert has pictures of our house after Ike. We have some damage to the roof and all of our fences are either down or leaning but overall we are very blessed. Things could have been a lot worse as they are in areas near us. My Mom and Charlie evacuated to our house and if they hadn’t been here, there would be a large hole in the game room ceiling. They were able to poke a hole in the ceiling to drain the water out and put containers under it to catch it. We have a claim started with our insurance and are waiting for an adjuster to come out.
