A Busy Month

At the beginning of the month we went up to visit Levi’s friend Olivia and hang out with her family. We went swimming and had some burgers off the grill. It was a nice time together and the kids had a ball. We went swimming at the neighborhood pool and this is after that. Both kids had their bath and were ready to play some more.

Here’s a quick video of the two of them playing. You can’t hear super well over the adults talking, but Levi says “happy” several times.

This is at a friend from church’s birthday party on the fourth of July. We’re all wearing matching t-shirts from Old Navy.
After all the playing that weekend Levi was pretty tired. He ended up out cold on the couch at the house we were at.
Levi and I were all ready for bed, but taking a little bit to play together first.

One evening Kendra went out with friends and Levi and I stayed home. We decided to play out front in the sprinkler, so here’s a little video of that.

Here’s Levi in his Astros outfit. As you can see he was ready to eat. Unfortunately he decided to have a messy meal and ended up out of the outfit before he even left the house.
Here’s Levi taking full advantage of the No shoes, No shirt, No service policy. Nothing there about pants.
This last weekend one of Kendra’s roommates from college, Trudy. Here you can see Trudy’s husband Woodrow next to Kendra. He’s holding Kendalyn (not sure if I spelled that right) and Peyton is right in front of him. They were in line for the carousel, while Trudy and I took pictures.
Here’s Levi on the second story of the carousel at the Kemah Boardwalk.
There’s Peyton waving. Woodrow is right behind with Kendalyn.
Here we all are right outside the Bullet roller coaster.
This is a shot of us on the train. Levi was getting tired here, but he did great.
Look at that big boy. He looks very tired here. He had fun on the train and did a great job of riding without getting in any trouble.
On Saturday we went to the beach. Once again Levi had a ton of fun.
Here’s Kendra, Trudy, Levi and Kendalyn.
Levi and Kendalyn had a lot of fun together. Some other kids had dug a big hole that they were playing in. It was cute watching them.
They ended up getting down in there as the hole expanded. Apparently the secret for keeping them busy is to dig a hole and put some water in it.
Of course the next step is to put muddy sand on each other.
After all that playing we cleaned up and took a picture. Kendalyn wanted to be in the picture. Peyton was more interested in looking at the beach, so he’s behind us.
Levi was out cold after all that running around.
Breakfast the next morning before the zoo was fun. Levi spilled orange juice everywhere, so he’s topless eating his breakfast.
Levi wasn’t so sure about standing by himself at the sea lion.
He wasn’t so sure about standing with his friends by the elephant either. At this point he’d had a long day and was tired out.
We had a busy month, visiting friends and going all over the place. Levi loved having friends staying with us and is still catching up on sleep.

Summertime Fun!

Lots of pictures of things we have done so far during the summer. Father’s Day. Schlitterbahn with Olivia and her family, Water Play Day at school, playing outside with Daddy. Sorry some of them are blurry. I wanted to get pictures of the outfits he was wearing too. He has recently not liked to get pictures taken of him. Hopefully he grows out of that phase soon.

Hot days, Water Days and Father Days

Levi’s school does water day every once and a while during the summer. I got a chance to go to one of these days and watch Levi. He had a lot of fun and was the main one playing in the water. Not everyone else in his class was so sure.

Here’s Levi with his buddy Wade. I work with Wade’s mom, so after water play I got to take the pictures back and show her.
He was wandering all over the place playing in the water. He had this shovel in his hand as he ran around.
There’s a good view of the shovel.
Last week on Friday Levi and I were solo while Kendra went scrapbooking. I set up the sprinkler and the pool in the front yard for him.
He liked the sprinkler a lot, but only on certain settings. If the water hit him in the face too much he was not a fan.
Here he is a little too close, so he was turning away.
For Father’s Day I got some prizes. Here’s my balloon, or as Levi says. Balloo.
Last Year Kendra and Levi got me a cookie card instead of a regular one. This is great since I have no idea what to do with a regular card. On the other hand this kind of food is edible. Sounds good to me.

My gift, along with some money I decided to throw in so I could get it wa this TiVo hard drive.
On Saturday we took Levi to get some new shoes. We got him these really cute Converse All Stars. They are high tops and they can be double knotted, so they stay on better.
My other gift was this shirt. You can see Levi and I match.
Here we are at Olive Garden. Levi was having fun. Unfortunately, he has learned he can shriek, and was doing this half of dinner. It was a little stressful.
Kendra got Levi this really awesome shirt, so I just had to post some of the shots. I’m sure she’ll post some too. Its a Mr. Potato Head shirt. Awesome.
This is a great shot of him looking like a big boy. Very toddler like.
And here’s why we like water play so much. It has been very hot out. This is 101 degrees at 6 pm. That means it was hotter earlier probably. Yuck. It also hasn’t rained at our house since sometime in May. Its been a bit much.

Summer Time

Its definitely summer time here in Houston. Shorts are popular and everyone is ready to swim.

Here’s Levi in a little romper outfit playing with some bouncy balls on the couch. He discovered he can climb up there and now it is hard to keep him off. The big trick is teaching him not to stand up on the couch.
Here’s a great shot of his shaggy hair. These curls are so cute, but they get some comments like, “what a cute little girl”.
We went swimming in our friend’s pool a few weeks ago. Here’s Levi, back in his Jabba cruiser. He’s going to be taking swim lessons this summer just to make him a little safer. I’m not sure we’ll be able to convince him to float around in this thing much longer.
Here he is giving direction to the photographer. He gets that habit from one of his grandparents. I won’t say which one.
Levi has a new pool to play with at home thanks to his Grammy and Granddad. Here he is showing off his plumber’s crack at the pool.
Here he’s putting his plumber’s crack to good use examining the new sink we need to install.
We went to Challenger park for Levi’s buddy Emma’s birthday party. He loves sliding on the slides. He was going solo on some of the smaller ones. On the big ones he gets going a little fast and falls backwards. Not so good on the hard slides.
Levi ate almost a whole cupcake at the party. He was a big fan of that.
Here’s a few shots in a row taken on burst mode. You can see him sliding down on his own.

He really enjoyed it.
Here’s Levi at the dreaded barber shop. I know not everyone will like it, and I do miss the curls a bit myself, but it needed done. His hair was getting all tangled up from sitting in his car seat and such.
Levi did a great job with the haircut and wasn’t afraid at all.
He did play with some toys they had at the barber shop, so that helped I’m sure.
Here he is getting blown off with compressed air. He thought that was awesome.
And here’s a good after shot. It’s a really cute haircut. The only problem is it seems a bit deceptive. Before he had wild and crazy hair, so you knew to expect a wild and crazy boy. Now he looks all prim and proper, but he’s the same wild and crazy boy.
This weekend we went to Schlitterbahn. And because everyone assumes we were in New Braunfels, no, there is one in Galveston too, and that’s where we went.
That lump of cloth between my feet in the tube is Levi. He was so tired he fell asleep in the tube and slept as we went around the lazy river, even in the rapids.
Here’s a little better shot. Off to the right is Levi’s buddy Olivia.
You can see him tucked in there inside his life vest. I guess he was comfortable, it didn’t seem to bother him too much.
Here’s a cute shot of Olivia. She was drowsy but not letting the waves make her too sleepy.
Here’s the three of us. We didn’t want to uncover Levi and wake him up.
And here’s Levi and Olivia, with Levi once again asleep. We didn’t want to get the camera wet, so we didn’t get too many shots there.
Here’s Levi holding onto Olivia’s hand. This has happened before in this shot. Very cute stuff.
Anyways, that catches me up. I’m sure as the summer goes on we’ll have lots more shots to show off.
