Fall Festival and Pumpkins

We went over to our friends the Esbeck’s house for their neighborhood’s fall festival, since our neighborhood is too lame to have anything. There was a costume contest, so we went as the Flintstones and Rubbles.

Here’s Bam Bam.
Betty
Barney
Betty and Bam Bam.
Here’s the whole group. We won the contest. With two cute kids and a dog it was no contest. Unfortunately we were late for the kids contest, so they didn’t get their chance to dominate in that category. We of course know they would have won.
The Rubbles together.
The Flintstones.
Here’s Levi Bam Bam pointing at a plane. There were some YMCA staff there helping and so he was flirting with the girls.
Here we are. Notice the chocolate on his face. The sun was blinding us, so he’s squinting.
Here he is dancing. He was won of the dance contest winners. The little strawberry shortcake girl in the background was really good.
He had a lot of fun in the bouncer.
And on the slide.
Especially the big slide. We finally had to stop because the daddies were getting too tired to sherpa them up there.
They even had a booth to make your own decorated cookies. This is the one I did with Levi. He enjoyed eating it soon after.
Here’s our costume trophy.
Here’s the attack pumpkin getting carved.
Here’s the dads starting the process with the kids all stripped down for the mess.
Levi got bored midway through and wanted to play in the yard. here he is yelling.
The moms took over and finished the job.
Levi played in their water feature.
Olivia thought that was fun and decided to join him.
Inside later I carved up our pumpkin.
It turned out great. You can see the broken stem. Levi took that out with his face. You can see the other side of that in a previous post.

It was a lot of fun, followed by Texas dominating Missouri in football. Olivia’s family is from Missouri. I think they knew it was coming though.

Balloons

Here’s Levi trying on the hat from his costume. It will be the only time you’ll likely see it on him, since he isn’t fond of wearing things on his head.
Its really cute, and would be great with his costume… if he’d wear it.
We went to Ballunar fest on Friday with some friends and Kendra’s dad and step-mom. Here’s a wide shot of all the balloons lit up.
And here’s Levi, the future astronaut.
And his crew mate Olivia.
And the best balloon, the Texas one.
Here’s everyone but me. Taking the photos has its benefits.
Levi is pointing at balloons.
The giant energizer bunny.
Levi was captivated.
Here we are with some balloons.
And Ann, Jesse and Olivia.
And Tim, Rhonda and Levi. It was Rhonda’s birthday too.
When bunnies attack. Actually, he’s deflating, but it sure looked like an attack.
Olivia was having fun watching.
Levi had other plans.
Kendra checked his ID and kicked him out.
Levi with his bunny ears.
Olivia with hers.

Pumpkin Patching

We went and picked out pumpkins with Levi last weekend. We had a lot of fun, at least most of the time we were there, more on that later.
Levi found the bumps on some of the pumpkins interesting. Daddy was showing them to him.
We had to sit for a closer look.
They also had little squash, which he liked.
He had fun running around the area and all the pumpkin pallets.
They had a lot of different types of pumpkins as you can see.
We even took a second to pose. Levi wasn’t real fond of stopping long enough for this.
One of Kendra’s co workers was there with her kids. Levi was hanging out with her daughter. She also has a son that was born a day after Levi in the same hospital. They weren’t in the same place too much though.
The two of them went exploring.
And Mommy showed him some different pumpkins.
And back to being a ladies man.
Playing with a little hay.
And there’s all three of the kids playing.
Then the not so fun part. Running over to be with Mommy Levi tripped. He fell right onto the stem of a pumpkin we had picked out. Mommy is laughing about something completely different, but it is a good clear picture of his battle wounds. Now when he sees the pumpkin and its broken stem he says, “bobo”.
