Easter

These first few pictures aren’t from Easter, they’re from a few weeks before when we went to do a few geocaches in a local park. Levi enjoyed the walk and was of course hamming it up for the camera.
Here’s a family self portrait.
And here’s Kendra and Levi heading out of one of the trails from a geocache.
The day before Easter we went to an egg hunt at a church near our house. They had face painting and Levi said he wanted to check it out.
He did a really good job holding still.
His bunny made it until later that night.
Here he is with his Nana and Paw Paw.
And a shot with the bunny. He wasn’t a bit worried about a person in a giant bunny costume.
The egg hunt was after all of that and the weather was great for it. The only problem was everyone going out one door to get to the hunt. This meant a bunch of the bigger kids were out there a lot longer and they got greedy.
In the end Levi got to find some eggs, so he was happy. Some of them were in tight places only little guys like him could get to easily, so that helped.
After the egg hunt he played on the playground for quite a while.
It was funny watching him in the tunnel.
On Easter morning we had another hunt at our house with Nana and Paw Paw, followed by pizza for lunch.
He got to find a bunch more eggs and had fun doing it.
Sometimes his basket spilled, but he’d just pick them back up and proceed on.
That afternoon after nap time we headed over to Mimi and Granddaddy’s house.
We played a little croquet.
Hunted some eggs.
And a highlight, got some new travel Thomas trains. He now has Victor and Charlie (Granddaddy’s name).
He got a basket from Grandma and Grandpa.
And mommy and daddy got one from Mimi and Granddaddy.
Here’s Aunt Jennifer, Uncle Matt, Mimi, Granddaddy, Levi, Mommy and Daddy all together.

We had a good Easter and Levi is now an egg hunt expert.

Easter!

The day before Easter we went to First United Methodist Church in Dickinson to their Easter celebration.  Nana and Paw-Paw joined us.  On Easter, when we got home, Nana and Paw-Paw hid eggs for Levi to find and then we went inside and had pizza.  After nap we went over to Mimi and Grandaddy’s house to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa and Ms. Joy.  Uncle Matt and Aunt Jennifer were also able to join us for egg hunting and dessert.  We had a great day.

Park, Concert, Party and Pigs

Levi is a big fan of dinosaurs. Here he is playing with Perry, Doris the Stegasaurus and Laura.
Perry goes to the park with Levi.
Kendra and I got to go see one of my favorite bands, Switchfoot, when they came to Houston.
We saw them at the Arena, which has a rotating stage.
The seagulls on the stage are part of the “Hello Hurricane” CD theme.
Here’s Jon Foreman. He went through the crowd during a few songs. That’s someone else’s hat on his head. Right after this I got to high five him. The little preteen girls next to me practically had seizures because they touched him.
Levi’s friend Olivia had her 2 year birthday party and Levi had a lot of fun at that.
They had bubbles outside, which he enjoyed a lot.
He also got a new UT chair to sit in. The cats were also big fans.
A big highlight was the trip to the livestock show. We got to roam around the petty zoo. Here he is checking out a deer.
And a llama.
Here’s Olivia and her mom feeding some animals.
And a baby goat going piggy back on a very patient llama.
Levi got to pet the llama, which was very soft, but not wearing any red pajamas.
A posed shot.
And another. He makes lots of silly smiles now a days.
Here they are looking at recently hatched chicks.
And some bunnies.
Riding the horses.

Getting ready for the mutton busting. It was raining of course and the stands for the mutton busting (sheep riding) were not covered. Mutton busting is for 5 and 6 year olds and if they do well they get invited back for the rodeo that night. Levi wants to do it later.

Here we are at the pig races. Levi liked this, and we loved having a cover over our heads.

One of the racers.
Notice the pig wearing the orange is winning.
Which segues into the Longhorn picture.
Here’s Levi with the Borden cow Essie.
And Beauregard.
And some gourmet cupcakes Kendra’s brother Matt and his wife Jennifer got us for our birthdays.

Playgroup!

Levi and I are now a part of a play group.  We met on Friday April 2nd at Challenger Park in League City for our first outing.  It was a great way to spend the morning.  We went to McAllister’s Deli afterwards with the Sauer’s family but I didn’t bring the camera in for that.
